  1. Research News and Updates - Nowhere else can you receive in-depth and concise research news and updates on research information occuring at Missouri State University and with its researchers. Here we present important policy changes affecting research, past and upcoming workshops,  and other outside sources of research interests.
  2. The OSRP Newsletter - Your link to Just-in-Time News that has numerous articles on research topics that helps faculty and staff develop and submit grant proposals as well as matters concerning compliance. The newsletter is in the form of a PDF document that has been designed for easy viewing and printing. A quarterly newsletter that is a "must read"!
  3. The Blog and RSS - How else can we ensure that the most up-to-date news gets to Missouri State faculty, staff and students in a timely manner wherever and whenever? Having immediate access to other ideas and information is what makes the difference in a researcher being aware and currrent on areas affecting their research and funding opportunities.   4. The Web Site Videos - Having problems finding information on the OSRP web site? Then go to our web site navigation tutorials! Its like a frequently asked question list, but with videos that guide you to the respective areas that match your questions. Need to find funding opportunities? Then check the link that walk you through that process!
  5. The OSRP Site Map - Like the web site videos, the Site Map presents a visual representation of the outline setup of the entire OSRP web site. Formated for easy viewing, the Site Map will direct you to the needed information in no time. Check it out!
  6. Grants Email Alerts - Have you ever wanted to have that personal "go-to person" search for funding opportunities based on your keywords or research interests and then email the program details to you? You will be able by agency and program to find that program that will allow you to expand your reseach interests without having to wade through the mountains of information.
  7. Compliance Information - The mission of institutions like Missouri State University engaged in research projects that involves human subjects, animals, export control, chemicals, radiation, etc., is to ensure that those projects are conducted in compliance with federal and state regulations, university policies and commitments specified in grants, contracts and other agreements with external sponsors. You need salient information that presents all the needed information. We have provided it for you!

Search no more all over Missouri State web site, because OSRP has one page for all the electonic forms needed for your work. We have provided different document types such as the popular PDF version that is fillable from your computer and ready to print. You can download the document to your computer, but remember there may be updates. So bookmark this page as "OSRP Electronic Forms"!
  10. Training @OSRP - Training is important due to continuous changes in federal regulations as well as new ideas from experienced researchers and administrators. Who will train new faculty and students? OSRP has answered those concerns with workshops and online training available to the Missouri State research community. The purpose of providing these compliance related training is to encourage and educate all researchers on the ethical and responsible conduct of research (RCR).

We conclude with this last piece of advise. OSRP is a service department that provides pre- and post-award services that will enable faculty, staff and students to successfully search for and obtain pertainent grant funding information towards successful grant funding. Top Ten Funding Opportunities Announcing a new item

The office of Sponsored Research and Programs has implemented a "Top Ten Funding Opportunity" web page, that seeks to cover the general research interests of faculty. The web page lists the title, description of the program, the sponsor (agency) and the deadline. The link to the full program is also provided. Please take the time to see the listings of funding opportunities.

Grants.gov News

 Grants.gov is the government agencies primary source for the submission of grant proposals. When a grant application package is submitted through Grants.gov, a confirmation screen will be received by the sender as well as four emails advising of the status of the sent submission. [continued....]

As of April 1, 2008, a new Internal Approval Form (IAF; PDF) is now in effect for all submitted application forms for all external funding agencies. [continued...]

Required IRB Application; CITI Training:  

Missouri State University requires all persons engaged in human subjects research to provide valid proof of current IRB education for themselves and all personnel listed in the application. Sponsored Research and Programs will NOT send the confirmation letter advising of the IRB approval until the CITI certificates have been received. See more information.

Grants Resource Center:  

The American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) Grants Resouce Center provides grant search and funding opportunities to its member insitutions, though monthly deadlines.

NEH News  

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) has made it official: the agency’s focus on its Digital Humanities Initiative is here to stay. Effective March 25, 2008, the enterprise became the Office of Digital Humanities (ODH), complete with its own resource library, blog outlet, and funding opportunity guide.

Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA) 

The FFATA Web Site Is Up and Running! Have you visited USASpending.gov yet? This free publicly accessible Web site contains federal funding data and was mandated under the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 to be available by Jan. 1, 2008. It is a "re-launch" of http://www.federalspending.gov/. The data on federal contracts are drawn from the Federal Procurement Data System, and the data on federal assistance come largely from federal agencies via the Federal Assistance Award Data System. Grants Resource Center Services: 

The Grants Resource Center (GRC) provides services to its member institutions giving them the competitive edge in obtaining external funding, as well providing help in strategizing institutional goals regarding federal and private grant funding. Member services can range from asking a quick question about a particular grant program, to identifying funding sources for faculty projects. The GRC Members' Handbook (PDF doc) details all the services that its members can use towards strengthening their research comptitiveness for federal and private grants.

NIH esubmission: 

Recently the NIH announced that the error correction window for Grants.gov and NIH processing times will be reduced from Five  (5) Business days to Two (2) business days. After January 8, 2008, the “error correction window” will be the two business days (Mon.-Fri., excluding Federal holidays) that follow the receipt deadline of the Funding Opportunity Announcement.
